Peter Wright (surfer)

Peter Wright opened the first surf shop in South Africa in 1971.

In the summer of 1971, Peter Wright opened the Corner Surf Shop and then started a surfboard brand under his name, Wright. Introducing skateboards and a new style of skating to Africa, the Wright team performed well.

From 1976 onwards, the business became associated with the import of Tom Morey's bodyboards and later their production under licence.
